He doesn't know who she is at first when he looks up to her. The clothes throw him off, and the way she stands blocks the light putting him in shadow. He squints up at her, but as soon as his eyes adjust and he sees her face he knows who it is. Annabelle, the girl in the trailer near his and the one that had helped Susan find him at the party. He doesn't know what to think of her. She was a bit odd, she said confusing things. Sometimes he felt she was making fun of him, but other times she seemed kind. Her actions seemed kind at least, even if her words weren't.
Normally he'd be very concerned about how to speak with her, what she thought of him, all the stuff he normally spent energy being anxious about, but right now he's too out of it to care.
"It's passed the middle and there's nothing strange about this beach."
