Lauren may be silent, but Susan isn't. After Lauren doesn't respond, he just starts to talk about whatever he can think of, content to just talk out loud to himself if Lauren doesn't feel like responding. Of course there's nothing important said, but that doesn't matter.

Soon enough they get to... Some other part of the reef, where there's some cool anemones or something to look at, which Susan excitedly tugs Lauren over towards.

"See, look! Isn't this cool?"
