A flick of her tail sends Tanyuu drifting further away from Foster--a reflex, but one that feels as if it might be needed. Her expression remains shocked for a few moments before resolving down into a tired and irritated frown.

"That doesn't make any--" she cuts herself off and shakes her head, taking a moment to collect her thoughts. "I'm not inclined to abuse or discard anything, and you hardly seem worthless to me."

What Ginko had been describing about Foster's behavior previously is starting to make much more sense. This man is not mentally well, nor apparently well-equipped to deal with social situations in the slightest.

"How about we start this over. What were you doing at the bottom of the lake at this time of night? There must be more comfortable places to find solitude."
