i'm sorry about him.

It's a statement he absolutely wasn't expecting. The shock of it twisting his anger into a different feeling entirely. It's something darker that's blooming inside him, a seed of hate he's long since forgotten the depth of. He doesn't know what Lambert is looking for with the taunt. Satisfaction, confirmation, whatever feeling or reaction the other man wants, the Psionic isn't interested in giving it to him. He isn't some convenient target to waste displaced feelings on. Neither will he allow himself to act on another's command. As much as he wants to hit Lambert there's a larger part of him that knows everything wrong with that desire. That same part of him knows hitting Lambert won't give him the relief he's so desperate to have. The feelings of emptiness and loss will still be there, so he doesn't hit Lambert. Instead he raises his horns, baring the sensitive skin of his neck to the man. It's a gesture that's rarely purposeful among trolls. It's subconscious body language that carries meaning in two parts. The first meaning is to show submission, and the second to convey a lack of fear. In some situations it could make you look crazed, in others courageous, in still others it could be used as a sign of devotion. The Psionic's own meaning is clear. 'I don't give a shit about you or your expectations.' With that silent response he steps past Lambert and walks away.
