Being not-as-tipsy as Sans, when he brings up the topic of human research and experimentation, it's inevitably going to make Lambert raise a brow and glance over to see if he's actually serious or just making a joke.
"Why? Didn't have many humans where you're from?" Speaking to Papyrus had implied as much, but he's not what Lambert would call a reliable narrator at the best of times. Sans's perspective, even drunk, will be a more cynical interpretation of the whole thing, and the truth will probably be somewhere in between.
