There's a pause as Strange continues to think things over. He's here, they're both talking, they're both in a relatively good mood, is there something he needs from Childermass or to tell Childermass? After all, it's rare, now more than ever, that the two of them have some relative quiet, not interrupted by Strange's bad decisions or the carnival thrusting them into some nonsense. He should take advantage of this, but how?
And then the answer hits him. Ah, yes. He hadn't come to the man to tell him about the revival he's negotiated but well, they're here and the lakeshore is relatively private, so why not go ahead and do that. After all, he had to tell Childermass about this eventually. Strange is petty but he isn't cruel, the man would never forgive him if he let Childermass think that he had permanently died.
"There is something I should probably tell you. It involves my duties as a nightrunner." He's beating around the bush—Strange pauses a little, hemming and hawing as he tries to find the best way to phrase this. There's really no way to say 'hello Childermass, I've worked out an arrangement with the Ringmaster so she can bring me back from the dead if I were to die, I'm certain you're still going to worry about this but at least try and worry less..'
"We both know that faeries can bring someone back from the dead." After all, Strange had pieced that out when Childermass told him of his wife's fate. "I've negotiated an arrangement with the Ringmaster so if I died, she would bring me back."
