Overall a bad idea, even Childermass knew from the second he touched the massive horse's face. Horses don't like that. He should have known better, considering he had his own horse to care for back home and had it been Brewer, he also imagines he would've risked getting a hand bitten. Pig, apparently, really is more mellow than that ugly bastard he left behind before stepping onto the faerie roads.
Not that knowing that now saves him from being knocked back, only a few steps until Lambert steadies him and that's what keeps him from falling straight over onto his ass. Well, this is getting annoying... Just how many times is he going to have to deal with Pig nearly knocking him down? This makes it three times now for sure, possibly more than that.
"I don't doubt he would get over it once you got him another ear to chew on," Childermass says, sounding a little dour. He looks down at the muddy noseprint left partly on his coat, partly on his vest. The nice ones, too, with black silk and silver embroidery. That's straight from wardrobe. Well, at least at that he lets out a small laugh. "I'm beginning to think I'm cursed. I can't go two weeks without ruining a shirt in one way or another."
