Where could Lapis, the water Gem, have possibly gone in the middle of the ocean?

Peridot will have her answer soon enough, because Lapis jets out from the water very suddenly, tackling Peridot off the Sharpedo with a laugh and dragging her under the water. She only drags her down a meter or so, but she's shooting Peridot a wicked sort of grin.
