"I think she does, honestly. You know how they have those puzzles, where you slide the tiles around to make a picture? I think it's a little like that, except she just plugs the piece with us on it into whatever puzzle she feels like." He looks thoughtful, giving Pea another good scritch as he talks.

"The only downside is that we don't really have the slightest idea what the criteria are. There could be some deliberate selection and consideration for us, or it could be as random as 'It's Thursday and this one over here is the shiniest." He shrugs, not really having any way to know, and knowing better than to ask the Ringmaster herself.
