He has thought about it, in the past. Giving up, going home, having a normal life. But it seems that each and every time he starts a journey, he has a reason to keep going, a need to find his friends, and now he's too far deep to ever back out. And he can't just leave people to die.
He's not even sure he knows how to be normal now. The thought of going back to his island is comforting, but it's also... stifling. How could he just go back to school, sit in class and do homework like nothing ever happened? It's hard, this life, but he can't give it up either.
