So, awkwardly and tentatively, Strange starts to walk back towards the shore, slipping a bit as he does so because look, ice is slippery and ice that's starting to melt is even more slippery. Thankfully, he makes it back to the shore without any incident. Unfortunately, that candle is still in the hole.
"Maybe I'll just raise the candle from the lake bed later," he remarks, with a little frown. Because yeah, now that he's back on dry land and has remembered the candle in the first place, Strange doesn't want to go back out there and get it. Candles can dry off after being submerged in lakewater for a while, right? Maybe?
