One of his last acts was to keep one of the servants with him in a freezing room, trying to give the man a deathly chill for seemingly no reason. He prevented me from taking up any useful occupation out of simple spite—which, preventing me from taking up any occupation meant that I couldn't marry Arabella until the man finally died, thank God for that.
