Ticket to Ride [OPEN to Nightrunners; feel free to mingle!]
Who: Mari and the Nightrunners!
What: Mari introduces herself to the new Nightrunners and gives them a briefing before they hit the road.
Where: In front of the ferris wheel????
When: S1:D6
Warnings: N/A
Mari has been nowhere to be found since the orientation, having spent the intervening days cultivating an air of mystery by her deliberate absence. The truth of where she's been is a secret known only to... well, okay, it's not very secret. She's mostly been hiding in her trailer, playing with magic and letting the suspense build because she likes to make a dramatic first impression.
Sure, she showed up briefly for the making of dreamcatchers, but she made the very peculiar choice to avoid interacting with anyone who works under her.
But now... the time has come.
She stands tall--very tall--one pair of mismatched hands on her hips, her other large, taloned hand raised for dramatic gesture. The last hand... is holding what looks like a long black javelin.
"Hellooooo! My name is Mari Illustrious Makinami, and I am the Nightrider in charge of this operation. If you're new here, you should count yourself lucky! You have the most fun and interesting job the carnival has to offer!"
It's also ostensibly one of the most dangerous, but... that's where the fun comes from!
"You can ask me questions at the end, but first: the mission. It should be an easy one. Perfect for you newbs, right? Think of it as training wheels! Unless something goes wrong. Then I suppose it's more a trial by fire. Anyway, we've been here before, and the Ringmaster is supposed to be friends with the ruler. But, just in case, she wants us to check the place out, make sure nothing unduly shady is hanging around to catch us napping." Heh. "Once we've reconnoitered, we're to check in with him, let him know the circus is in town. His name is Morpheus. Big surprise."
She pauses, studies everyone, huffs a short breath.
"That's about it. We depart in six hours, so get your naps in now, kids!"
[OOC: I want to extend a huge apology to you guys for my untimely absence. The actual OOC reason I'm late is that I was busy getting married. Obviously, that won't happen again, but thanks for bearing with me!]
