I don't know the specifics of vampirism, just what I've experienced. They subside off the blood of another, they're weak to silver and sunlight, and to properly destroy one, you need to destroy the head or the heart. They have some form of compulsion that they can use to draw you in. Joker called them demons...but I doubt that term means much to you.
