Considering her name means scrap of nothing, that really says something about 'mother'. As it is-this is perhaps the best, yet worst way to bring the concept forward. On the one hand, she has an answer immediately. On the other-

"...it looks like a sparrow." She is a bit too literal for this.

"...I don't think sparrow is a good name though..."

Fortunately, she is just barely aware enough of the issue there. "...I've never heard anyone use different names in the shows though. ...don't they just try to do tricks and things?"
