Unfortunately it didn't work that way, so Strange isn't too far off. Still, Tamaki looks pretty surprised by the premise of the spell.

"That's pretty smart..." He probably could have used that, as a ghost. Though he could certainly pick things up and throw them around during his hauntings, actually being able to pick up an item and carry it with him was a skill that was beyond his reach. He's pretty sure it would be similar now; his clothes and Riori's Pokeball in his pocket come through the wall with him, but if he were holding something in his hands he would probably drop it.
