Stability, I suppose. The other form of magic energy in my world, aer, is a lot farther from matter when you consider its properties... and the result is that it's more difficult to control, and prone to becoming imbalanced and distorted, causing severe environmental issues.

If your magic derives from something that, between the two, is more similar to mana, that's probably a good thing.
