Huh? Why is it android?
[Ummm... Etymology isn't really his area, but...]
Um. I guess we were to break the word into its component parts...
andro-
means 'man' or 'male'. While
-oid
means 'having the likeness of.' Which is kind of funny now that I think about it, since almost all the androids I work with are female...
