Sure enough, the creature does reappear. In fact, it's charging towards 9S, head lowered, horns pointing forwards. 9S' horse twists, trying to turn and avoid the oncoming traffic. But there's nowhere to run, boxed in by trees.

A trap!? He didn't think an animal would be smart enough to think of something like that!

"Rita, look out!" he yells as he throws himself off his horse in a hurry. And not a moment too soon; 9S lands heavily onto the ground, rolling to lessen the impact, right before the bicorn's horns pierce his horse's side.
