Stars sakes. She's been living with these changes for so long now, she'd almost forgotten that they're the sort of thing that most other gems would look down on, or even be repulsed by. Blue Diamond had been her first reminder, and now Jasper.

Her impulse with Blue was to be much more ashamed about it. With Jasper, she's pretty much equal parts ashamed and angry about it. The last thing she needs is to be taking form criticism from her.

"Fae magic," she grunts cryptically, scowling. "I don't expect a clod like you to understand it."

Yup, EVEN WHEN TERRIFIED, she can't help but argue with Jasper. It's just how it is.
