The bat lifts it's face off of the ground to stare blearily up at where the nightrider and the warden are still trying to blast each other to smithereens. Her eyesight is terrible like this, and between that and the rain, the scene to her is mostly just two large blurs shooting flashes of light at one another. Two large blurs that are getting bigger...

Lambert's roar is like murder on Peridot's sensitive bat ears, and she squeaks and huddles close to the cobblestone, trembling fearfully. The gold dragon's impact with the ground is the only thing that provokes her to move. Once again, she makes another change, switching back to dragon again to leap clear of the fight, half gliding to put some distance between herself and the melee.
Whirling around to face it gives her a sensation like the bottom is dropping right out of her stomach, and she's struck senseless by the spectacle, gawping helplessly. She'd gotten involved expecting to intervene in a sword fight between two friends, not a battle to the death between two monsters. What can she even do here? Even with her new form, she's smaller than the other two beasts. Almost certainly weaker. Neither of them had shown even the slightest sign of reacting to the sound of her voice...
She hasn't felt this useless since her and Steven's encounter with the Cluster. That brief moment that had felt like hours, where she was so certain they were all going to die.
"Both of you stop-- HEY-- Stop this, PLEASE," Peridot howls, springing forward at the last second and yowling against the rain and the cacophony of clashing teeth and claws. She takes to the air again and zips around the perimeter, snorting fireballs into the air, trying to find some kind of opening where she can maybe get between them somehow, try to break their focus...
