Jasper gives him an IMMENSELY suspicious squint. She's, like, vaguely aware that humans start off much smaller and become larger gradually, but that usually they die before they can get any larger than the average gem? She's pretty sure that's how it works. She supposes it's not totally implausible that with some magical intervention that gradual growth could be bent in a different way, but it's -- that just doesn't seem right.
