"You don't usually go to wardrobe departments to get real weapons and armor," Ichigo points out flatly. "You go there to play dress-up with costumes and props."

And he wasn't interested in dress-up, he's interested in finding something with which to apply a lot of irritation to a magical storybook character in the most violent ways he could think of.

This whole 'making sure they fit' thing brings to mind vague recollections of measuring tapes. "I take an L in shirts, 71 centimeter pants. I'll take a pair of sweatpants if you don't have anything normal in that size. I don't really need anything special, it's just going to get covered in blood anyway."

Apparently this kid isn't particularly concerned about 'appropriate' things to fight in.
