Peridot has Jasper dangling by the shoulders, so when the quartz makes an impact, she's torn out of Peridot's grip, and thus Peridot's entire balance situation just goes completely sideways. Squalling, she also slams right into the ground, her momentum carrying her forward a few feet as she plows up furrows in the dirt and sends dust flying. By the time she comes to a stop, her head is literally buried. Like an ostrich in the sand.
