It's hard to really believe that. He has no love or admiration for the Prince - it could probably be anyone that held the key to his personhood and he'd feel the same. It's the ultimate power over someone, and so whoever has it must be the ultimate power. The master who holds the only thing he needs or wants in the universe.

"Why do you think that?" he asks, the question genuine but still somehow numb. "He owned me... He had me even before he did this. We'd already lost."

Or so he remembers thinking. His hopelessness had become so deep that there was nothing to fight back with. Maybe he gave up any right to himself because of that.

"I don't even remember what it felt like... Nothing besides that it still hurt, and I wanted... I wanted to stop anyway." He's been staring into space since he started taking.
