I'm not going to take a chance that he might win and destroy our world.
[Not to mention that collapsing the very reality of one world linked to the multiverse might set off a chain reaction of unpleasant proportions. It was really in the Ringmaster's best interests to help them afterall]
... How I think it works is that Fae get their power through the contracts. I don't think fae like the Ringmaster or the Prince can do these reality-altering things without the power they get from mortal contracts. Like.... that very act empowers them to do the impossible. That's my theory, anyway... But I know that contracts are real important to these creatures.
