"'M tryin'," Doll says with a very slight pout. It's the reason she insisted on staying with the carnival-- she wanted to stick by Joker, because he loved her and she loved him. It's hard to connect Joker loving her from his wish that she not join the carnival for that reason, but she understands it when she forces herself to realize that Joker just doesn't want anything bad to happen to her.
