It's strange hearing someone else say that, that pretending things didn't suck won't make it better. So many people are unwilling to just say unpleasant things, outright, to Papyrus. It's one of his favorite ways of dealing with problems.

So he's unpracticed at hearing accounts of feelings like these, and a range of expressions crosses his skull as he listens. Guilt confusion, sadness, and a kind of relief. Having such clear instructions of what Julien wants, makes it easier to know what to do next and still believe he's helping.

"It super sucks!" Papyrus bursts out. "It does suck, and, if it helps you to think of it, then... I'm willing and eager to think of it with you! Affirmation... isn't my middle name, but it could be."
