"Actually, it sounded as though magic exists very differently between our worlds. My understanding is that yours comes from outside Thedas, from the Fade, and is tied heavily to spirits. Tyrian magic is part of the world itself, so it is more common and accessible... and there's no risk of possession."
He adds that on almost too quickly, suddenly remembering what seemed to be the big fear revolving around magic in Thedas: the spirits, demons, basically.
