"I don't care if you look at me, it'd just be nice if you were doing something else at the same time instead of staring me down like I'm on stage in the bigtop," Peridot fumes. So it's less about privacy and more about not being the sole focus of attention. And she pauses before adding at a mutter: "And I'm not going to drown."

All the same, she situates herself to kind of. Lean forward into the the bowl of red and, after giving it another sniff, tries to take a gulp of it. Except that she's never tried to drink as a bat so it's more like she opens and closes her mouth above the surface few times and frowns. Hm. Most animals she's seen drink with their tongues, right? She sticks hers out, and leans in to try to skim off the surface... and then accidentally puts too much weight on the edge of the bowl and flips all the contents all over herself and the table. She lets go immediately, the bowl clattering while she splutters indignantly.
