To be entirely honest, he's been waiting to duel Strange for a while now. He has so many neat tricks up his sleeve that he could use against him. He just had to be sure for a while now that he wouldn't actually kill him. In battle it was hard to hold back when Tyki was faced with someone capable and with everyone here now a challenge because his power was against him it made him a little wild.
