"That's why they don't see me," Cole points out, as if it's obvious. "That way they focus on the words."

The words, the sentiment, that's what matters. Cole wants to try to help, not get people worrying or confused about where the heck this weird guy came from or what he's doing or how he knows things. It would freak people out but, at least in Cole's mind, being unseen helps negate that fact.

As such, Rita's suggestion of a different approach isn't really a good idea (at least, not to Cole.) He shakes his head. "What other way would there be?"
