Unfortunately, he isn't terribly great at pushing through the crowd, himself. Bones just don't have the muscle to make people move, and he's not very practiced at pushing people around. Usually he'd just jump over the people in the way. But jumping high - or directly fighting with bones - are just too flashy and obvious for trying to lay low.
So he catches himself, a few times, going stiff and still rather than jumping up. And then the music starts up, and his movements change. He begins pushing forward even when it means walking into people, as long as it's forward.
