Slogan, catchphrase, tagline! [Open]
Who: Jinx and You
When: Throughout Day 29
Where: All over the Carnival grounds
What: Just out and about and thinking about her upcoming first performances!
Right, now that they finally got done with saving the day and all that, it was back to business! Of course, what that meant for Jinx was basically just a day of keeping herself entertained with... whatever. Her thoughts were primarily focused on finally putting on a performance! She was a Daredevil and already had a bunch of ideas on what she could do.
One such ideas was hoops. She had set up a bit of an obstacle course in the Big Tent... Top with lots of hoops big enough for her to jump through. That alone was enough for her, and anybody in there could've likely caught her practicing and diving through said hoops while in her Star Guardian form. The act itself, however, was missing a little something.
It may or may not have been fire.
Actually she definitely wanted fire.
She had a bunch of other ideas and plans. Acts she could put on without needing anything extra. For example, having your own two spirits that each turned into a gun was really convenient. It was also convenient that said spirits were intelligent and could speak to and understand Jinx. It was like having her own personal stage assistants!
All in all, she's pretty excited about it.
Jinx eventually stops at the cookhouse for some food and hits up everyone else with a question about all the Star Guardian stuff that happened not too long ago. After that, she goes to hit up some of the games or the rides, like the Ferris Wheel! She also wonders if they ever got that Test of Strength game fixed up.
The same one she broke when she first made it here.

So, as he sees Jinx walking around the game area, he perks up a little. Cole's actually visible, as he moves out from behind his game and looks over at Jinx.
"Does it look good?" It's a legitimate question, he still doesn't really know how carnival game stands are supposed to look.
no subject
"This where you normally set up?" Given that she'd arrived when they are all in Wismuth and in the middle of all that Star Guardian business, Jinx didn't really have too big of an idea of what everyone did when they weren't busy fighting against the Void.
no subject
"There are people here, but not too many. I wouldn't be good at that."
It's said in a very matter of fact tone. At least Cole recognizes his flaws.
THAT CUSTOM PROMPTPROMISE ON D28
But it's embarassing all the same-not the monologues, not the villainous laughter, just the ending, that pushing conviction that everything had simply needed to...Disappear. That she deserved to disappear, alongside everyone else because of it.
With her mind cleared again it's almost silly, she thinks. How she could have thought of things like that, but all that said...
She is buried behind walls and curtains of fabric and drapery, diving deep into the backlog of tasks to be done which piled up over the previous week, her radio buried in still more as she stares into her coffee and lets the machines churn.
All that said there was still that final turn-over from Harbringer to Guardian, and she finally groans rather loudly as she holds her head.
"What have I Ddddddddddddddoooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnneeeeeee..."
no subject
And probably start playing her own game.
Hey, actually that wasn't such a bad idea.
"So what's your pitch? You gotta get people here somehow, right?"
no subject
"Throw a ball at the bottles to try and win a prize!" It's a shitty pitch. However, Cole's delivering it with utter sincerity, like it's the perfect thing to get people's attention. "I don't think I'm good at it. I like giving out prizes more than yelling."
no subject
Or something.
Look, the point was, everyone was back to normal and nobody was left to be all villain-y and stuff. And that was good. Because honestly? Jinx felt like she'd hit her "good deed" quota for the rest of her life thanks to that whole mess. Anyways, back to the present!
"What do you mean?" She asks, just walking up behind her.
no subject
Carly your blush is practically full body-
"Ahh... A-Anyway." She coughs. "What brings you here?"
She's not doing great at acting casual.
no subject
"I was, you know, nearby and wanted to see how you were doing. Maybe talk a bit about clothes. That's it, yeah."
Seemed innocent enough.
"You were already looking pretty okay so I didn't need to worry or anything."
Jinx you were doing so well.
no subject
Yeah. Yeah that's it.
"...You're looking pretty too!" WAIT NO WRONG ABORT ABORT ABORT-
no subject
"Like, you don't need anything super fancy to attract a crowd! Just say what's on your mind and they'll come to you."
Really, she just liked it when something was simple and easy to understand.
no subject
Cole looks a little shocked at the fact that Jinx likes it. He thought it was a good pitch. And he thought it would work. It's just that when you're a creepy slightly telepathic spirit, you can pick up on people's thoughts and confusion and apprehensiveness about said pitch more often than most. But if Jinx likes it...
"Then I'll keep saying that," Cole continues, in a matter of fact tone of voice. It's okay if other people think he's odd. Other people think he's odd anyway. But Jinx likes it, so he's going to keep doing it that way.
no subject
"Uh, did you just say that I was..." Because that's what it sounded like to her. "Cause I think you just did."
no subject
"...What'd you think I said?" Why is she this Bad at Everything-
no subject
"So, did you? Come on, just fess up already!"
no subject
It was laid out bare right in front of her. But enough about that.
"So what kind of prizes you got to hand out?" It was time to talk about the most important part of a carnival game!
no subject
"ohhhhhhhhi'msorry-"
This is generally the part where she's Rejected, Politely, see, and she's expecting it will go no different. Except maybe worse, depending on.
Owch.
no subject
"Well, that's fine. Because, I... uh...."
For someone who always had something to say, Jinx was suddenly having a hard time finding her words.
"Um. I mean! You."
no subject
"You can try to win one, if you want," he pipes up, obviously excited at the idea of Jinx playing the game. "You just need to play."
no subject
At all-at all, in fact. "Y... ...'It's fine'?" she asks, as if to check again. "......................Y... ...It's alright to say that..!?"
no subject
Still searching through her words. "You look... kind of good, too! So that's why I don't really mind if you say that about me."
no subject
"W-Well, if we both look good and... ...Well it's good that we can compliment each other openly, then~! Ahaha~" That redness is Not going down.
no subject
The smoothest of operators, right here.
"... Are you okay? You're almost as red as my hair."
no subject
"W-Well, red is...a nice colour, I guess.."
no subject
She just decides to go for it, leaning and walking in closer to Carly to the point where she was able to give her a quick kiss on the lips.
"There, how was that?"
no subject
...
Before Jinx moves, a million thoughts are passing through Carly's head. Most of them are the worry-the fear that perhaps before anything could start, it was more properly ruined again, and there went That Chance at...something.
At anything.
Perhaps she should stop while she's ahead, stop hurting herself but then-
"Mhn-" Then Jinx moved closer even just for a second, and then that second is over and Jinx is standing back and looking rather deliberately at the side. (Which is probably for the best, as Carly is brighter than the brightest christmas tree)
"I...I..."
....
even jack never did THAT-"...can you do that again?"
no subject
All she needed to do was stay in her civilian form.
And not get mad.
"Just watch, I'm gonna get top score on the first try."
no subject
You know, checking on her and all that.
And not... whatever this was becoming.
"Huh? Uh. Yeah, sure!"
And to think, this was the first time she had kissed someone. But there she was, kissing her a second time.
It felt... good. Really good.
no subject
When they do part, she's a bit at a loss for words-sill wondering if this even happened, perhaps, wondering just how much of this could be a dream or not a dream. Regardless, the woman finally moves to try and just hold the other with a hug, instead.
"...Thank you, Jinx." ...She's not sure quite what this is becoming now, but she hopes they can see where it takes them in the future.
no subject
"You have three attempts. The big prize is if you knock all of them over, the smaller prize is if you knock a few of them over."
And then Cole scoots out of the way! He's already been hit a few times by stray balls, he doesn't want to be hit again.
