Papyrus opens his mouth like he wants to elaborate on a myriad of mopping tips and hints he's got stored away, but closes it politely when he sees Rhys was talking rhetorically - and not finished yet. What kind of welcome would that be, talking over someone still introducing themselves!
"That's right! And I understand your plight," he says, nodding sympathetically before adopting a lofty and boastful tone. "Why, I'm one of the most skillful people here! Nothing escapes Papyrus' abilities, whether it's things I'm already a master of... or things I could become so, with hard work!"
He's had his own moments of doubt and irritation over the assignment. To go from what he'd been doing, to working as a janitor? For a whole year, and probably more than a few years to come...?
"But!" Papyrus insists, with a well-practiced air like he's said this speech before. "Janitorial work is the most essential work. Nobody wants to visit a place that's a gross mess! Well, not most people." He can think of exceptions.
