Thankfully for everyone involved, Cole does know how long a hug lasts. He pulls back from Rhys after the appropriate amount of time, putting his hands back at his side.

"You're new here," Cole points out. "Most days are bad days for new people."

It takes a while to actually adjust to the carnival. That's something Cole knows and something Cole's learned since he arrived here. Rhys...probably hasn't adjusted yet.
