Steven's ears perk up, Strange's suggestion obviously inspiring some degree of hope in him. Even being able to know would help him feel a bit better. Even if the answer is a bad one, he'd... at least know what to expect.

He's been so dazed this whole time he almost doesn't think of it - but then the obvious answer strikes him. The Rose Queen had left him water back where he'd been rooted. She understood that he couldn't survive on nothing.

"I have water back past these vines," he says, trying to get to his feet. His stance is unstable, but he manages it. He feels extremely woozy, and his feet don't feel natural to stand on. They're totally wrong shapes.

He puts a hand on the thorn vine, and then looks at Strange, his ears folding back with worry.

"I... don't know if you should come back here. If she thinks you're trying to help me..." He looks away. If Strange belongs to Ignatius maybe she wouldn't, but he doesn't know.
