Of course magic ghost plants that make you have nice dreams are all well and good, but after a traumatic event peaceful sleep is rare. Before the mushi infect Lauren's dreams he finds himself having a dream very much like a recent terrible experience. It's one he'd rather forget than relive. And yet, when he closes his eyes he's back there, beneath the earth, closed in and without air. He struggles, trying to shift the dirt, to do something, anything, but he can't.
He wakes up gasping for air and sits up, throwing his blanket from his body as he does so. He's sweating, as the cold night air hits his skin he shivers. Without thinking he summons a small spark of flame to his hand, lighting up the surrounding area. A mothman, startled by the light, takes off into the night sky, flying into the distance.
