At some point after entering the wall of shadow, Ignatius screams. It's impossible to tell what about, in the darkness, but it's something more vulnerable and deep seated than any of them will have heard from him, up to this point.

He falls silent again not long after. By the time they make it out the other side, Ignatius is ostensibly conscious but looks practically dead inside, unresponsive to stimulus and just staring off into space. He looks completely awful, and his ashy blood is soaking all through his white garb and down Jackson's side.
