To be honest, he hadn't thought about it that hard because if this was his game, something he played with his prey at home, he'd first eliminate the leader, separate the others, pit them against each other, and choose something mind numbing and tiring in order to break them down one by one.

He tries to convey understand, acceptance, and above all frustration in his thoughts. He knows Reira likely doesn't have her empathy but he wants to remain calm. It's why he'll turn towards her with his head to examine her again before going back to observing. He's listening, he just can't convey that very well.
