Being right ontop of the Mother (sort of), Gongenzaka is hit by the wave fast. While his senses are largely limited to what Peridot experiences, his soul is yet his own and immediately he finds himself assailed with regret and uselessness. He's just here- he's not doing anything yet not really, their current target is nothing he can specifically point out because it's obvious where the hole in the chassis is-
