That makes Strange bristle a little bit, as he looks over at Lambert with a glare. Lambert's words at least snap Strange out of his worry as he shifts right to irritation then to trying to calm himself down because he realizes just how irritated Lambert's comment makes him and he doesn't want to show it.

"All Childermass has done, he's done for English magic. I'm not foolish enough to believe he focused so much on keeping me alive out of friendship." At least, not at first. Now, who the hell knows.
