Okay, that has him really turning to face Strange in one rush of motion and stepping up to get into his face.

"No, I would still be exactly where I chose to be because I don't go around treating everyone like they're absolute shit," he growls. "You argue and whinge and cry about all of your hardships, how everyone refuses to understand you. How everyone should respect you, immediately, without any effort. I thought I did respect you. I wanted to be your friend. Now I've realized you only offer me any of that when I'm not opposing you."

And he's quite mad about that. At least one English magician seemed to accept him as a peer but it was never that simple, was it? It's not like Strange had much choice. There weren't other magicians around. That isn't true anymore and he knows it.

"Do you even understand why I signed onto the carnival? Why I wanted the key to the Raven King's book so badly?" He steps away again, whirling to pace a few steps back, then around again to face Strange. "No one is going to listen to me when I return to England, Mr. Strange, unless I can force them to. I need to control the book, the translation, to make them hear me, to make them give me a chance, and, by God, to perhaps get them to respect me. Do you think I assume they should bow to me as their better simply because I know more? Because I know better. I am nothing to the good ladies and gentlemen of England. I have struggled and fought for every single thing I have, every single bit of magic I know, and now I must struggle to show a bastard from nowhere and nothing is just as good as a well-born man who happened into magic on a whim."

He takes a breath, a pause because he's definitely just upsetting himself further and so much talking requires so much air.

"And I have tried to explain this to you before and you just can't understand it. You don't see other people. You only see what you want. You want me to be your friend despite all you've done. You see the rest of the carnivals as cowards because they're suddenly trapped in a war they never signed up for. Do you even care about anyone here? Anyone at all? Truly? Or is it just what we can do for you that you see?"
