Sans has been standing in the doorway up to this point, too overwhelmed to know what to do. It's all too tempting to just sit back and wait, to let this resolve according to the effort of people stronger and more sincere than him. Him, her, Lambert, they're all suffering through the same thing right now. If she can't beat it, how is he supposed to? Is it even possible?
Yet, when he sees Lambert struggling to light up the room, sees him still speaking anyway, it finally pushes him over the edge. He summons up his angelic wings and teleports into the room, setting himself above Lambert and emanating his own radiance. It's not quite Creation magic, but it's all he's got.
"Hey," he manages, with less confidence than some of the others, but still enough to be heard. "I know I've already given you a hard time, but... you never left any of us behind. I don't wanna leave you behind, either. So..."
