It had been two weeks, now, since the Ringmaster took his magic. Exploring the islands and playing with Zap helped him to stay occupied and not think too much about it, but not having it was still really off-putting. Lauren had said maybe it was only temporary, but still... It was hard to think positively with something so important missing.

...But, it seemed Lauren was right, and near the end of the Alola trip, his magic returned. Just feeling it around him again, being able to manipulate the magic to do what he wants... It's as natural as breathing, and now that it's back, everything feels right again.

He wants to tell Lauren as soon as it's back, but... what if he just showed him, instead?

And so that's why, when Lauren comes into the trailer after his performances that day, he'll find everything seemingly normal, except for a random chest on the counter, with Susan and their various assorted animals nowhere in sight.

I mean, to be honest his first assumption is that Susan has stolen the chest, or won it, or bought it somehow with a trick. In reality there's many ways it could have gotten here, but all of the ones Lauren could think of involved Susan doing something stupid. He gives the thing a suspicious glance before looking around for his brother.

"Susan? Fluff?"

There's no response, just the chest sitting there. Is a rather nice looking chest, very fancy and enticing.

Enticing to some people sure, to Lauren it's just a big ominous box of unknown possible danger. Really, if you walked into a room and saw a chest just sitting there the odds were, nine times out of ten, that it would be a terrible trap. Probably a mimic or something else terrible. He could take a mimic though, and if it was something awful it would be better and easier to deal with it without Susan hanging around. He looks reaches for his staff, before cautiously wacking the box across the top of it's dome.

The staff doesn't hit the top of the chest at all, and instead goes through it to hit the counter instead.

A moment later, the chest disappears, before Lauren can hear giggling from the bathroom.

Okay. Fake chest. He rolls his eyes, looking in the direction of that 'mysterious' laughter. But then it sort of clicks in his mind that illusions are powered by magic, and that no one in their trailer should be capable of that sort of magic at the exact moment. He looks to the chest again, running his hand through it's image just a few times to be sure, but it's really not there. It takes him about two seconds after that to stride to the bathroom looking round for his brother.

The bathroom seems empty... But he may notice quiet footsteps behind him before suddenly he's being noogied by a spectral hand.

He jumps in surprise, before trying to shove the hand away. He laughs. What the hell?

"Susan! What are you doing!?"

"I'm not doing anything!" And if Lauren turns around, he'll see Susan there with a big smile on his face, but just like he said, it doesn't look like he's doing anything. Of course it's a lie, but still.

Oh my god you liar. He continues to try, in vain, to shove away the hand missing with his hair, but despite the annoyance he's smiling.

"You got your magic back?"

Finally the hand dissipates, and Susan responds with a nod, still grinning wide.

As his brother finally stops bullying him with his magic, he wraps his arms around his brother in a tight hug.

"You little twerp! How long have you been keeping this from me?"

[wild_magic]

"Only a couple hours!" Like he'd be able to hide it for longer.

[mylastchance]

He stands up, carrying his brother into the air as he does so.

"Unbelievable! You should have told me!"

[wild_magic]

He squirms as Lauren picks him up, but doesn't really fight back or anything.

"Well, I wanted to surprise you!"

[mylastchance]

"Do you think I wouldn't have been if you'd just told me?" He asks swinging his body and Susan from side to side as he continues to hold his brother.

"I know you would've been... But this way was more fun."
