A Bit of a 'Downgrade' [OPEN]

[When the game cube rises back up, Gongenzaka pays no mind to the curious addition of a cable or two off his back. There are more important things to do after all, such as celebrate. They won. 'GAME OVER - COMPUTER WINS' is echoing in the air, and it is quickly joined by rousing laughter and excited yips from his snubbull.] HAHAAAHAHAAAAA!! [He laughs, grabbing the nearest person and pulling them into a crushing hug.] WE DID IT..!

WE'VE SUCCEEDED..!

[Did you need that spine you didn't need that spine right? (Also, you might be getting a bit wet. He is absolutely crying.)]

[DAY 99 - LAKE]

[It is strange, but once he returned to the Carnival, he began to feel rather...lethargic. He considered using the scroll of meditation to help recover some-after all, the day following when the Game touched down would be the start of the Performance Week-but eventually decided against it, instead trotting up toward the lake and springs. His intention had been to go to the springs, but...

...The minute so much water lays before him, he finds himself running as fast as his legs can carry him, vaulting off the side and crashing in with an enormous SPLASH. He doesn't so much leave as surface slightly, shaking off a bare minimum of the water as his proud pompadour falls flat over his face, the usual combined strength of gel and dryness falling apart.] Hoooo... [Who knows...why he needed this much water, but he feels a lot better now, that much is certain. He moves some of the hair from his face-the black strands far longer than most would have likely expected from him, and their roots tinged with what could be a mix of green and brown.

...Hmm. Hopefully he didn't splash anyone...]

[DAY 100 - CARNIVAL GROUNDS/TRAILER/COOKHOUSE]

[So. ...It appears this is why he needed the water.] A...AUH...

[Quite literally overnight, Gongenzaka's body becomes coated in plantlife-stretching from within his hair to move down along his back and shoulders, all through his tail and even along the underside of the taur-body he has. His silvery white fur is dotted with bark from the life now growing off of him, tendrils of equally pale wood coiling down through his limbs to allow various flowers and leaves to sprout from tufts of once 'flame-like' fur. The leaves and flowers, one will notice from any long distance, are at least themselves a 'flaming' red. Red, Japanese Maple, dark rose (nearly red themselves) sakura blossoms among them, and a few other plants that he himself can't fully recognize. His tail seems to have been completely replaced by them in fact-though despite all appearances, it seems people can still sit on his back if the question ever arises.

Or rather, they can sit there and not end up seated on twigs-it instead feels like a bed of flowers and leaves, as soft as the fur once was. (And he is, somehow, still wearing a T-Shirt today.)

It is not the only change, perhaps-but it is certainly the one that Gongenzaka pays most attention to, and certainly the only one he sees at this point in time over himself-Suzu the snubbull is also left with a minor change of her own in fact, and the pokemon follows him around for the day bearing a collar of moss about her neck, with similarly fluffy patches at the base of her ears like little bows.

It's.

Quite impressive, really, though he doesn't honestly feel it. If anything, as he makes his way from his Trailer to the Cookhouse for some food, he feels a little lost about everything.]

[Steven is pretty much in shock immediately following the Game leaving, because he's honestly not totally sure what happened at the end there. It all got so crazy, and... he's been honestly terrified that things weren't going to work out, when it all came back to that final battle. And yet...

So, Steven is basically stunned and unmoving at first as Gongenzaka picks him up and spins around. Wha...?]

We won?

[He's just barely comprehending at this point. Meanwhile, a bunch of random sprites and binomes are being all like 'yaaaay' in the background.]

[Well, at least it's Steven getting a massive and tear-filled hug. Changes are he's one of the few sturdy enough to take it! (Yuuya probably just built up the strength over time)

Eventually with another laugh, Gongenzaka sets Steven back down, chrome face grinning.] We did! As you can see, there are no nulls to be found...therefore, we have succeeded Steven!

Day 100

[hippocarnival]

[Yuya's hasn't been completely comfortable the past few days either. He's looking a little groggy from poor sleep as he keeps trying to scratch his back on the way to the cook house.]

Hey, Gongenzaka. What's--uh. [He stops, leaning over to stare at his new mane.]

... Does that ever stop happening?

[Yes...well. Gongenzaka is...looking fairly awkward about that mane, to say the least. He doesn't really have much of an answer except-]

...I, the man Gongenzaka, have been told that such things typically cease over time here... [Erm. He glances to the side.] ...Though I would not be entirely surprised if the particular extent in my own case were linked to earlier medical matters...

[One day he'll be able to properly explain the fact that he's pretty much made of magic right now. One day.]

"Medical matters"? [He wrinkles his nose a bit as he scrutinizes Gon's state.] So it's not normal to change this much? What happened?

[otoko]

Ah... ....I, the man Gongenzaka, was rather severely injured...

For most, such changes can certainly occur, but only after far more time here! However I, the man Gongenzaka, required immediate medical attention, and so... [...Well, to put it lightly and vaguely,] ....And so, with the treatment, became exposed to just as much magic...

[He frowns.] I, the man Gongenzaka, cannot speak for this most recent one however... [...If he's 'made' of it, could that be connected though..?]

You were hurt bad enough they had to use magic to fix you? [Was Yuya not supposed to worry? Because he's worried.] Can all of this zreally be reversed when you go home...?

[otoko]

[Quite, considering he died. But he says nothing on that-injury is one thing, but to say he's died? That it almost couldn't bring him back?

Gongenzaka nods.] Auh-of course! [Not that he necessarily will-and he's already taken that into consideration.] For those who desire to return to normal, they carry a glamor until it reverses. It isn't all at once, from what I, the man Gongenzaka, have been told.

DAY 99

[ The day after the whole Game Cube happens, he's exhausted. It's for a couple of reasons, one, he's never really been a fighter aside from the occasional brawl or punching his best friend in the face. Gabumon mostly did all the fighting for him, in all honesty.

Two, the move that did him in was magical lightning strikes, and his Rebooted form had a body made of metal. It doesn't take much of a genius for anyone to figure out that he died a horrible death in the Game, which is why the minute that he'd revived after the whole Game had concluded, he'd dragged himself back to the Carnival and slept. For a Long Time.

The edge of the lake is always kind of where he defaults to hanging out when he wants to just rest - it's probably a leftover habit from the Digital World and Japan isn't exactly a place where there are a lot of lakes around. Plus, it gives him some kind of open space to tinker with his harmonica without worrying about whether he's disrupting the sleep of the other people in the Backyard.

... So yeah, Gon, have a drenched Yamato peering at you while he pushes his hair out of his eyes so that he can figure out what the hell just cannonballed into the lake and soaked him from head to toe. ]

[Oops. It takes Gongenzaka a moment to spot Yamato. Mostly he's busy blowing wet hair off his snout, shaking bits of water from his head while parting the curtain. It's a little odd to see the shadow around his eyes in this state, when it's obviously more of a mask of fur than anything his usual pomp caused.

But, as he turns....oh.] AUH-!!

M-My apologies..! I, the man Gongenzaka, came here without thinking...! [YOU LOOK LIKE A MESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS...]

[ TO BE FAIR, drenched Yamato doesn't look very much different from regular Yamato, unlike Gongenzaka, who Yamato doesn't recognise at all at least until he starts speaking. His voice?? At least, is ridiculously easy to identify.

So Yamato sweeps his hair out of his eyes and shakes his head, although he's also going to stand up so that his clothes can sort of maybe drip dry a little bit. ] Ah, it's... okay? I just wasn't expecting it.

[ NOT REALLY, BUT WELL, WHAT CAN YOU DO. ] Did you come out of the game cube, too?

[Maybe so, but he Is still wet, and that alone is something he should feel bad about causing. Or so he feels at least. Gongenzaka coughs, and nods.] Aah, that I did. It was somewhat challenging to keep from falling, but I, the man Gongenzaka, remained steadfast...!

...Until they retreated, it seems.

[ Ah, so he was probably on another Level, then, since Yamato hadn't seen Gon on his Level in the game cube.

Also, he's just going to try and wring some of the water out of his t-shirt while he's talking, don't mind him. ] At least we won? I think I, uh, died, while trying to stop them, so you did better than me, at least.

Aah, so we did...

...I, the man Gongenzaka, did hear about that however... ...Truthfully, our success is primarily due to those ahead of me. I, the man Gongenzaka, found myself in the position of the 'Final Boss', after all...

day 100

[Joker is here early in the morning for the usual reasons- grabbing a quick bit of dinner/breakfast (time is so fucked when you're a vampire) before the sun is too high up and a pain in his pretty ass. He's popping in some very bloody meatloaf when he glances up at the next person to come through the doors... and pauses to swallow.]

[Soon after, a whistle.]

That's one hell of a change. Alright there, Zaka?

[Wow that IS bloody. He can smell it. (Still having trouble with that meditation huh...) He takes a moment to get over the sight of it before giving the other a slow nod. It definitely is one 'hell' of a change, after all...

He's not sure if he's alright, but he'll sure as heck pretend he is.] A-Auh, it would seem so... ...It grew in just this morning however, so I, the man Gongenzaka, cannot say for certain that I have seen all that there is...

[Listen, let's not talk about the meditation. Instead, lets talk about Gongenzaka's immense flower problem.]

So ya think it'll get worse?

I, the man Gongenzaka, would hope not..!! What I mean is that I have not been able to check myself thoroughly..!!

HMM?! [...Oh. Well, he's coming in closer, eyeing the other a little curiously.] If you say so, then... ...what worries me is that such plants come with more than decoration, I will admit.

[Oh they sure do buddy, but just wait for it-]

Day 100

[Tamaki is also on his way to the Cookhouse when he sees Gongenzaka's rather... noticeable changes. It's kind of pretty, actually. He really likes everyone's plant-based changes, when it comes down to it.

He raises a hand to try and get Gongenzaka's attention.]

You look different, Gon-kun...

[otoko]

G- IT'S GONGENZAKA..!! [PLEASE DO NOT SHORTEN HIS NAME IN THIS WAY-

Though, he supposes it isn't 'chan', at least. It could really be worse... ...He coughs, crossing his arms and looking away in something of a mild huff.] ...You would be correct, however... ...it grew in this morning...

...But that's what I said.

[Are you suggesting he doesn't know your name, Gon-kun?

He looks over the changes again, nodding as through in approval.]

Changes come really fast. It looks nice, though.

You said 'Gon-kun'..! [HE HEARD YOU DON'T LIE-]

...Aah, so they do. I, the man Gongenzaka, am pleased to hear that however..! ...At the very least, they do not feel unpleasant... [The plants, he means.]

Yeah. Gon-kun is your name. [Maybe he's just dumb? Geez.]

Some of the mushi changes hurt. So I guess this is normal, then. [As opposed to some kind of bizarre flower-growing infection.] Do you have to water them?
