Who: Everyone and anyone.

When: Day 105

It’s a rat’s birthday party, and if you’re in the labor crew attendance is mandatory. After watching his department's sense of team spirit drop to dangerous levels Psi has decided to try and force people to have a little fun. Of course, the recent lack of camaraderie among the Labor Department isn’t the sole reason for the party; as Ginko had mentioned, anyone who decides to take a look at Rex the rat king will find a seventh head apparently in the process of emerging from around his shoulder. It’s not quite fully formed yet, essentially just a nose and mouth poking through the fur, but it’s very definitely there.

I. GINKO AND REX
A table has been set up near Rex’s enclosure with a number of rat king-safe treats laid out on it, so as to reduce the risk of visitors giving him something he shouldn’t eat. All the same, Ginko will be spending most of his time near Rex, and keeping an eye on things - just in case he has to, you know, discourage people from putting their fingers too close to the new mouth, or something like that. Fingers are not considered rat king-safe treats.

II. TWISTER AND OTHER FUN GAMES
Psi is here as well obviously, and he does have twister. He won’t actually make you play, but he will call you a wuss if you refuse to join in. Twister isn’t the only game they have available though, as later on Psi will also be ~~forcing~~ allowing people to play “Who Am I?” In this game the name of another person at the carnival is placed on a player’s back. Players then have to guess whose name is on their back by asking questions yes or no questions about that person to other people at the party. (Feel free to pick whatever name you want for your character.) Although Labor Department members have to play, others are welcome to join too.

III. FOOD
But what would a party be without the free food? There’s lots of good stuff. BBQ Ribs, Chicken Adobo, Pork Mango Habanero and for dessert there’s cupcakes in the chocolate and lemon flavored variety. Lar’s made it all so feel free to be shocked about that.

Susan isn't even in this department, but he couldn't say no to going to a party. He's already played Twister a few times (and lost every one), eaten snacks, and visited the birthday rat, and now he's moved on to socializing. At first he only was talking to people who were actually trying to socialize, but when he sees Snake he decides he has to get him to participate too. Only his brother is allowed to be a wallflower at this party.

Luckily he hasn't seen his snakes, or has written them off as some sort of change or clothing choice rather than as actual snakes. Otherwise him approaching Snake may have turned out entirely differently than this. As it is, though, he approaches with a small smile, trying to not be too obnoxious - he wants him to join in the fun, not get scared away.

"Are you people-watching?"

Snake nods. It's easier than talking, to a yes-or-no question. It also means he doesn't have to disturb Emily, sleeping around his neck, or Donne, resting on his ear. Though it's hard to miss Emily, given her red, black, and white stripes, she's not breathing, as a vampire, so it's easy to mistake her for an accessory. Donne, on the other hand, is tiny and on Snake's ear, easy to miss.

Susan nods with a small smile and comes closer, standing near him and observing the party from here too. He's quiet for a minute before speaking up again.

"You know, parties are more fun if you participate, most of the time." At least from what he knows. He hasn't been to a lot, but he's pretty sure that's the case.

A shrug. He's not sure it'd be fun for anyone if he did more than he already is; getting too close to too many people could be dangerous, could set Snake or Emily off. He's already getting heartbeat in his ear from Donne, and less so from Susan. They don't need anymore temptations.

Susan frowns as he still can't manage to get a response out of Snake. But he's determined to make this work, and so he doesn't give up.

"My brother doesn't like talking to people at parties, either. But, when he actually does it or does other things at them like dance, he always has fun. So maybe you should try it too!"

Snake's not able to talk without his snakes. But there's a faint hissing, right in his ear, that helps him know what to say.

"'I'm fine. I like watching people, so this is fine,' says Donne." That should help settle the issue... he hopes.

He's not sure who Donne is, but that's okay. He just assumes that's his name or something.

"Well... Maybe you should try playing 'Twister' then, it was pretty fun! I'm really bad at it, though... I fell down right away."

He shakes his head, then opens his mouth slightly and taps the tip of one sharp fang. Combined with the box he's drinking from, this should explain why he's a little uncomfortable being near people.

It takes a moment, but he puts it together and a look of realization crosses his face.

He thinks for a second before looking back at him hopefully.

"Maybe you should talk to my brother. He got better from being a vampire really fast. And he doesn't like talking to people either, so, maybe you'll get along?" It doesn't occur to him that they may have already met, since his brother is a Beast Tamer, but he would still probably suggest it anyway.

He shrugs. He's likely met Lauren, but they've not had meaningful conversation, or even small talk for that matter. Snake's not good at either.

"'It's ok. I'm waiting for Emily.' says Donne."

"Who's Emily? I don't think I've met them." Maybe if he does then he can get Lauren to help them instead so they can both stop being vampires!

Well, he asked. Snake gives Emily, the snake on his shoulders, a little nudge, and she perks up, yawn revealing long fangs, and blinks her red eyes. "'This is Emily,' says Donne."

He watches with curiosity at first, although once she starts to move and he realizes just what he's looking at his eyes widen and he ends up taking a step back.

"She's, a snake? A snake vampire?" As if snakes weren't enough on their own.

He nods. Yes, to both questions. Emily flicks her tongue at Susan.

"'Hello, cutie,' says Emily." The voice he uses for her is piping and effeminate. The snake actually winks at Susan. Weirdness.

The snake's tongue flicking at him makes him take another small step back, before he goes back to focusing on Snake instead. This is... Definitely weird. Especially now he's talking differently and... Susan has no idea what's going on right now.

"...Hi?" Is he supposed to say hi to the snake? He isn't sure.
