[Following the recent disappearance of Ginko and Tanyuu’s mushi repellent, there will be a sudden increase in the number of mushi in the carnival this week.

[ He frowns and when he tries to shake her off, he's admittedly a little bit surprised by how easy it is to shake her off, folding his arms and frowning back at her. ] I heard they're caused by magic the longer you stay in the Carnival, but I don't know exactly how or why they happen. Or what kind of changes happen in general.

[ Hey, he's not the magic user here, Rita. Also, since she's pestering him for answers, he may as well take the chance to ask some of his own. ]

Also, I can't see you properly anymore. [ There's also the beginnings of a headache starting up. ]

[When he shakes her off, Rita lets her arms fall to her side. Her hands clench into fists, but they stay where they are.

Changes, caused by magic... Rita's mind starts racing as she recalls the people she met who called themselves "humans" but clearly weren't fully so. Could it be...? Rita might have charged into this situation without having the first idea of just how different 'fae magic' is from any other magic she's studied. Was this a mistake...?

It takes a moment to register what else he just said.]

Like I said... your eyes are messed up. Did you even look? [... says the person who yanked him away from the mirror.]

I can't even see you properly, what makes you think I can even see my reflection? [ Now he just sounds more annoyed than anything, like he's losing his patience.

It comes with the whole being unable to see properly thing. ]

It's that bad...? [It did look pretty bad to Rita, but if what he's saying is accurate, it sounds like it's getting worse at an alarming rate. Or maybe...]

It's pretty dark back here. Maybe you'd see better if... well, here. [Good thing Rita carries a flashlight with her while working. She produces it and switches it on, pointing it up toward Yamato and the mirror.]

[ That's a terrible idea, Rita - and she'll find out when Yamato doubles over from the sudden light because wow, everything hurts even more now, and he, going to turn his back towards her and shield his eyes with his hands because everything is suddenly too bright. ]

Did you have to do that?!

[Rita, looking puzzled, points the flashlight down to the floor.]

What's your problem? It's not that bright. [She could understand him wincing, but that reaction was a bit excessive.]

I think it's the... thing. [ She should be able to figure out that he's talking about the thing in his eyes that she mentioned earlier. ] Whatever it is, I think it's... making the lights so bright that it's like.

[ A pause. ] Like looking into sunlight. [ He scowls. That's an appropriate analogy, and now that the flashlight is pointing at the floor, away from him, he's adjusting back better. Doesn't help that his vision is still shot to hell. ]

[Rita scrunches her brow as she considers what he's saying. It makes sense, but it's also pretty disturbing. And gross, if she thinks about it too much. She'll do him a favor and switch off the flashlight, anyway.]

I probably don't need to tell you this, but you should go see a medic. Whatever the hell that... thing is, leaving it alone for too long could lead to way worse than photosensitivity and blurred vision. [In fact, they don't even know whether the damage it's doing now could be permanent or not... but saying that out loud probably won't help anything.]

[ ... He's just going to give her a Look. Whatever she's saying makes sense, it really does, and he himself knows that he should make it to a doctor before he goes completely blind because that would be terrible but there's just. One. Problem. ]

... I can't even see where I'm going properly.

[ Yeah, good luck trying to stumble his way across to the medical tent??? Maybe??? ]

[Rita meets his Look with one of her own (not that he can see it), and sighs.] You really are hopeless. Fine, let's go then.

[She grabs his wrist and starts tugging him along as she turns and makes for the exit.]
