[Following the recent disappearance of Ginko and Tanyuu’s mushi repellent, there will be a sudden increase in the number of mushi in the carnival this week.

"Probably. Though they don't live particularly long, anyway."

He doesn't mean to dismiss Steven's question - he's not too surprised that he'd want to know, from what he knows of Steven. And, frankly, he appreciates that he's even thinking about it, instead of just treating the tokoyuki like a lifeless inconvenience. More than anything, there's a sort of pensiveness to his voice. "When it comes down to it, tokoyuki aren't made to survive past winter."

He hums, thoughtfully. "Depends on what you mean. A lot of them do depend on animals to survive, but not all. Really, there's very little that all mushi could be said to have in common."

Steven nods a little, though it isn't particularly enthusiastic. Mostly, it's just a grim acknowledgement. He knows that in the grand scheme of things, short-lived spirit insects aren't the thing he should be mourning right now. Yet... all it does is remind him of harsh realities elsewhere.

He's quiet for a little while, before:

"What's your favourite one?" he asks.

"My... favorite?" Okay, somehow, he wasn't expecting that, though he... guesses maybe he should have. "I'll admit, I don't usually think of them in those terms... um, mugura are pretty interesting, I guess."
