Who: Lambert, Carly, YOU???
What: A basic safety lesson on what to expect in the Mainframe. Don't getderezzed deleted, kids!
When: Early morning, the day after Lambert's post about the Mainframe.
Where: Center Stage
Warnings: Carly being Carly, Lambert's potty mouth, probably.
Were you hoping to sleep in today? Tough shit. Because it's early in the morning, probably right before breakfast, that Carly's voice comes bawling over the public channel of the radio.
"Hello everyone!! We've borrowed Center Stage for an important demonstration! Earlier you may have heard something from our Nightrider Lambert that there's something really dangerous about the coming location ... so we've put together something to help display what to do in the event of the worst! So come to the Center Stage quick!"
Less enthusiastically, Lambert's rejoinder follows, drawled lazily: "Yeah, you definitely don't want to miss this show."
[ ooc: A show, ask, and mingle sort of log -- Lambert and Carly will be doing a short 'presentation' and then open up for Q&A, but feel free to start your own threads to interact with each other? Other nightrunners feel free to butt in. o7 ]

"'Course, once we actually start letting people in the gates, most workers stick around the Carnival anyway. Once the Ringmaster decides to pack up the show, you don't want to get stranded."

Right, then. She'll have to ask Zecora what she needs - and not get herself turned into reptile for her efforts. Perhaps she can do that sooner than later. Helen jots down a few reminders, her expression thoughtful. She would think that once tickets started selling, the show would be the workers' focus anyway but it was a good idea to ask about time limits.
"Getting stranded seems like it would be particularly...unfortunate. Now, regards to the person who is defeated during a Game, will they be in any immediate danger of physical death? While this is a computer mainframe, knowing what happens to them from a physician's standpoint is probably key for a worst-case scenario. Can you provide a little more information on that aspect?"

Lambert drums the fingers of a hand against his thigh, then shakes his head. "Like Carly said, it's not pretty. We're still ourselves, under this world's rules and under glamor, but I don't want to experiment on whether or not I'm immune to turning into a mindless slug. Does that answer your question?"
no subject
She offers a smile putting down a few more thoughts in her book before continuing.
"Thank you for answering my questions, Lambert. I don't think I've had a chance to introduce myself properly. I'm Dr. Helen Magnus, your recently arrived Changes specialist."
no subject
"A Changes specialist? Never heard of one of those before." His scaly tail lashes idly, curiosity roused, but the stage is hardly the place to be asking questions from. Funnily enough, his early stint in the Carnival was being a nurse. "Welcome aboard, doctor. Hope you plan on sticking around."

Her laugh is rueful.
"Anyway, yes. I'm here and I do plan to be here for, at the moment, the requisite year and a day. If you ever feel like you need to talk, Lambert, please come find me either at the trailer or at medical," Helen offers affably. She might as well make herself immediately available.
"And if you never need to get on my good side," she adds with a smile, "a cup of tea will do nicely."

"I'll keep that in mind," he drawls. To which part? All of it, really He doesn't miss the emphasis on the term Abnormal, but that discussion will probably have to wait for later, though his fingers absently twist the wolf medallion around his neck. No reaction, so whatever kind of 'Abnormal' she is, it's not something it can pick up.
He also can't say anyone's ever asked him to come to them if he 'needs to talk' and while he almost certainly won't be taking her up on that offer, it's still ... amusing, he supposes? It leaves him grinning anyway, though his expression's a little more predatory (inevitable, thanks to having a full mouth of sharp teeth) than friendly.
"Any other questions related to Mainframe, or...?"
no subject
There will be a great deal of time for further discussion. With Helen, in general, even simple conversations seem to take a great deal of time. There is always something of interest to be discovered, after all. She offers a smile and nods.
"I think I'm all set on Mainframe questions. Hopefully, all will go as well as possible."
